PREGENESIS, PART TWO
THE PRYDE OF THE X-MEN MAKES GOOD! An origin story two BILLION years in the making as Captain Pryde and the Marauders go beyond rescue, beyond mourning, beyond human limitations, for the most historic mutant circuit ever dreamed up. It started with a mystery…and it ends with life!
This creative team crafts together yet another issue that gives an audience a very memorable story conclusion that will impact the X-Men narrative for the next few years. One of the more important and thought provoking scenes is one moment that Kate has been hoping would come to fruition in the recent years. Orlando delivers us a powerful scene between Kate and her father’s spirit. Together, the two sort through a map course created by the souls of those who departed in Genosha. In their realizations, the pair hug as they feel a sense of solace in their incoming hope.
Orlando gives the audience an exciting glimpse through the eyes of the character Cerebra into the potential future of the X-Men of the year 2099. This delightful scene continues to show the potential a future can bring, which is very fitting given the themes of time explained through the lens of Tempo as the series progressed. Towards the end of this issue, we see Kate traveling through time to place down a beacon of hope that will give more mutants a chance to live.
The art style from Carlini adds a great style that excels at bringing to life the quick paced moments this action packed cast brings. Milla uses color in such a fun way in this issue. The green colors used in the second scene of Polaris crafting together the box is absolutely beautiful. The colors used for abilities were a fun addition to Carlini’s art style. Lanham brings an exciting flow of word style and has a great style of lettering through this issue.
This creative team has given us a tale that has this phenomenal cast of characters traveling through hardships to find a key to hope. This cast has proven and defied what mutants have thought would be a permanent ending in the past. This issue brings to life themes of hope and how a future for mutants can be possible to flourish.
