After returning home to find that Alice had killed the Man in the Hat with her bare hands, the Warners Family mission is finally ready to be executed. With all the intel on Project Blossom gathered, it is time to strike. But the revelation of secrets kept by Carl from his family regarding the man hunting and killing Skrull sleeper families brings family drama and tension to the forefront.
Splitting into two metaphoric but also literal parties, the Warners infiltrate Project Blossom and discover the source of the Skrull detecting and killing technology to be their long-lost daughter, Ivy. Upon completing the mission, Carl meets with his supervisor, Moloth, only to learn too late that this mission is more than it seems.
Review
The trials and tribulations of the Warners continues as this issue takes a look into the destructive nature of secrets and compartmentalizing among family units. As Carl reveals in the end that his motivations were not for the Skrull Empire, but are to be inferred as the well-being of his family, we see the fatal flaw in Carl’s methodology. The blurred lines between family and agents slowly tears at the frayed edges of the Warner family until they eventually forge such deep tension that collapse is all but imminent. Thompson continues to dissect the modern family with incredible precision as we draw closer to the conclusion of the Warner’s story.

The surprisingly insightful and well crafted mini-series Meet the Skrulls nears its conclusion with this episode of family drama and spy intrigue that is a must read.
