Recap

It's The New Mighty Morphin Team versus...The New Green Ranger!
But whoever's left standing will have to deal with Lord Zedd's shocking machinations.
And his even more surprising ally.

Review

This story appears to connect this series to the parallel series of Power Rangers.  The big bad of that series is discussed again in this series when Zordon’s old friend from Elgar communicates with him. The issue is that Zordon seems to conveniently forget that Jason of the Omega Rangers informed Zordon of the Empyreals. Is this a writing issue or is this omission a part of the story?

In addition, the Rangers engage the combined forces of Promethea, Zedd’s monsters and the Green Ranger.  It appears that the civilians are not afraid of the monsters anymore and even look to them as their saviors.  This issue asks more questions than it answers.  Why are the civilians not afraid, the characters even propose a theory of mind control but I really do not see that as the reason.  Why is Grace suddenly working with Zedd?  Why does Zedd want Zordon?  Could it have something to do with the Eltarians discovering the Zeo Crystal in the past?  This wants me to continue reading to find the answers to these questions.

The art here is good but I am wondering why the human characters designs do not match the actors of the series. The colors are bright and vibrant as expected in a Power Rangers comic,  The lettering is effective, I like making the karate sounds being accentuated like the sound effect lettering.

Final Thoughts

This issue was not as good as prior issues but it could be just that point of the story where there are more questions than answers.
