Review

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers kicks off this compelling issue with a few of the members displaced and separated from the team. Mistress Vile and Dark Spector have been succeeding in their diabolic plans to infect The Grid. Flores does amazing work in being able to juggle between so many different voices of Rangers throughout this story.

Throughout this issue, some of the rangers are completely separated making this hard for the team. Adam and Rocky find themselves trapped in a prison built on Mistress Vile’s Fleet. They quickly discover there are others among them that are there including Danny from Wild Force. The HyperForce rangers appear to offer aid to the rangers still together, but not before having to take care of unwanted enemies who wanted to join in on the fun. The White Ranger finds himself in front of villains, and isn’t at all willing to go down without a fight.

A really fun moment of the issue is the acknowledgment from some of the rangers that Finster creates really funny looking monsters from inanimate objects, yet they are still enemies that can hit pretty rough. Flores excels at balancing incredibly serious moments with moments of humor.

The artistic team of Di Gianfelice, Angulo, and Fernandez are really phenomenal at bringing to life the intensive crisis that all the rangers are facing. From different shots of Ranger duos fighting enemies to the chilling interaction between the Death Ranger and Kimberly is absolutely fantastic for audiences to witness. Dukeshire is wonderful with the skills of lettering to add so much more voice to the sounds and dialogue of the issue.

Final Thoughts

The big question next for the Rangers is if they will be able to find the whereabouts of the Morphin Masters and if it really can be feasible to do that. Everything is on the line for the many different teams of rangers, and their chances of survival are becoming more and more slim. This creative team excels at creating a sense of fear as well as hope that the Power Rangers are able to win in this fight.
