Recap

When a person wakes up in the morning, they’re never sure what the day will bring. Sometimes it’s a happy refresh way of thinking. To others, it can lead to anxiety, anxiety that pending doom will fall upon a person that day. When Mile’s woke up a few days ago, he never thought it would be two days without sleep, or that he would find his “um girlfriend” nephew as an enemy. Speaking of enemies he didn’t know he would be kicking butt with the Rhino, nor did he think he would be teaming up with Captain America, to help save a bunch of kids from a psycho named Snatcher. That could give anyone anxiety, but not to Mile’s it’s just another day in Brooklyn.

Review

The big three finally meet; Captain America, Spider-Man and Rhino. Spider-Man gives Cap’ the run down. Mysteriously kids are vanishing, being turned into weapons and appear to be controlled. Writer Saladin is taking an interesting take on the age difference between Spider-Man and well everyone. Throughout the past three issues, there have been a number of jokes about the age difference between Rhino and Spider-Man. Now that Cap’ has joined, he has a new phone that is hard for him to work, Spider-Man being the teenager takes over phone patrol.

With the information phone on the phone, they were able to track the kids to Gowanus Canal. There was a touching moment where Cap’ let Spider-Man make the choice on what’s next? It took Miles a minute to get his barring.

Spider-Man scouts ahead, finding the warehouse appearing to be empty, until one of the kids blast him. In comes Rhino and Captain America to save the day! Well, almost save the day. We meet scary ginger named Snatcher. Who has the ability to control peoples minds.

As Snatcher controls their minds, he has trouble with Captain America. In what appears to be a mean psychic battle against control and will power, it takes all of Snatchers concentration to focus on Cap’ which allows Spider-Man and Rhino to free the children. After the children are safe. Spider-Man is able to take Snatcher out. Until Snatcher decides to take over the children again, only to get venom blasted by Spider-Man taking him out for good.

Final Thoughts

I thoroughly enjoyed the story arc. It was great seeing Miles struggle as a student, personal life and superhero. Often times we don’t see superheroes struggles, we only see them “superheroing.” The art is cool, the coloring in every panel is outstanding. This is a fun Spider-Man book. It has action, heart, what more could you ask for in a Spider-Man book.
