Recap

As one band falls to the forces of Magnum Khaos, the members of Brooticus find a magic VHS tape with a message from The Heavy, as song they must learn if they're to defeat Magnum Khaos! The sole survivor of the band Whisperwood, Hjelmdar has one goal in life, join Brooticus to stop the Veldar once and for all!

Review

Where many series slump Daniel Warren Johnson has shifted into high gear preparing for what promises to be an epic finale to this story! The reveal of other metal bands fighting the Veldar is pretty interesting and the addition of a new member helps break up what could have been a repetitive “find a member, find an artifact” flow otherwise.

The art, also by Johnson, is spectacular and epic, with even mundane actions seeming steeped in action. The huge attack at the beginning of the issue was rad and I liked the glimpse into the heavy.

Final Thoughts

This series might not be for everyone, but it's a whole lot of fun. I really like it
