Night Wolf #1-3: Go for the Kill!

Lycanthropes, vampires, and dark magic make for good subject matter, and Night Wolf is no exception. Night Wolf reads like a great 80’s horror movie with just the right amount of fantasy that makes this story so addictive. Robert Multari has created a universe rich in characters and created a foundation that stands tall in both execution and uniqueness. Rich in color, the art has a great feel from panel to panel and makes it easy for the reader to become involved with the characters. Multari has a knack for keeping the attention of the reader be it battle or telling Rod’s coming of age story, which we easily get behind him while rooting him on through his journey.

A journey that sees him split time between keeping his loved ones safe while figuring out his newfound powers. This is where Multari shines with great pacing and constant world-building with issues one through three. Case in point, one of my personal favorite parts comes in issue two when Rod is at the prom and an all-out brawl ensues! Vampires, demons, and werewolves combine that with freaked out teenagers and some death, you have a great bloody good time! I would be remiss not to talk about the other members of this phenomenal creative team. Artwork and coloring by Oscar Choquecota, Carlos Herrara and Ross A. Campbell. The coloring is just awesome and at times has a feel as if you were watching this on television! This whole creative team has laid the foundation for an awesome horror/fantasy series that needs to read!
