Outer Darkness #4

Recap
The crew of the Charon is dragged along on a rescue mission for a guaranteed crew member of a derelict that has been frozen hundreds of years. Unfortunately for them the crew member in question has been possessed for some time and has other ideas!
Review
An interesting issue that continued this series fun tone of Star Trek meets Event Horizon, a strange darkly humorous tone that so perfectly counters the horrific events to make a really well rounded series of tales. A complaint could be made that there isn’t much of a overarching narrative but I refer back to classic star trek, which did have a central story but could be viewed as a series of interconnected vignettes rather than a long form cohesive story and still works fine as either.
The art by Afu Chan was great especially the sequence of the navigator (hilariously I’ve forgotten his name) and his godly origins. The alien design is a real highlight in this series as well, although again to reference classic trek pretty much all the aliens are humanoid for whatever reason.
Final Thoughts
I love this series, although it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but whatever, more books for me!
