What You Need to Know:
Thanks to the intervention of Dr. Ivo, courtesy of Jason Todd, Supergirl and Blue Beetle were able to take down AMAZO. Unfortunately, Dr. Ivo was killed by Athanasia. Not only that, but the Suicide Squad successfully killed Animal Man and Damian captured. Leaving only Vixen and Jason Todd to escape from Gorilla City…

What You’ll Find Out:
This chapter opens a short time after Damian and his team’s ill-fated escape from Gorilla City. Ra’s has finally left his control room and chastises Athanasia for killing Dr. Ivo. He laments he can’t help her moments before she’s taken by King Solovars guards. Solovar had taken a number of dangerous risks because he believed Ra’s could make a better world for his family. But since it was Ra’s family that ruined his goal, he plans to execute Athanasia & Damian publicly. Before she can actually get put into a cell with Damian, Talia Al Ghul makes a surprise intervention to save the pair.

Talia allows the pair to escape wherever they chose. Free of both her and Ra’s influence. Back on the battlefield, Batman is remaining vigilant in the event AMAZO returns. He orders Green Arrow to move the civilians a mile out is informed they were already moved 5 miles out during the fight. Batman deduces it was the Flash but gives him a pass. Only asking that he leave quickly, likely to avoid people realizing he broke his parole. Blue Bettle returns tells them AMAZO was defeated, lying to protect Supergirl and saying he malfunctioned to Batman’s confusion. Wonder Woman prepares to leave with Black Adam but Batman wants answers for what happened while he was knocked out. The two prepare to butt heads once more when Superboy intervenes. As the voice of reason, he states the obvious. AMAZO is destroyed but there’s still the collateral damage that needs to be dealt with and that everyone just goes home and rests. It time jumps two days later at Wayne Manor where Catwoman has difficulty taking care of Ace the Bat-Puppy. Her savior comes in the form of Alfred who has finally, recovered enough from his trip into the Lazarus Pit to walk around.

The two chat briefly where we Bruce has been office-bound since their return. Taking full charge of Wayne Enterprises humanitarian efforts towards the AMAZO incident. Their talking is interrupted by a smoke alarm. Catwoman is concerned for Alfred believing his started to cook something but forgot about it while still recovering. She leaves Ace and goes to turn off a burning pot of tea. Off-panel, she presumably sees a shadowy figure and asks if its Alfred only to be rewarded with a gunshot to the stomach. Alfred investigates with Ace in tow only to find himself held at gunpoint by Athanasia…

What Just Happened?

This was a bit of an interesting chapter. A bit more of a segway chapter that set things up rather than a cooldown chapter. Vixen & Jason Todd are still out in the wild, both Batman & Wonder Woman’s teams have returned to their respective homes, Damian is MIA, and Athanasia is attacking Wayne Manor. It was interesting seeing Talia appear as I can’t quite remember if she has appeared before this point in either Injustice comics. Though beyond that and setting up it didn’t really stand out.

Rating: 5/10

Final Thought: I have no special thoughts really. Besides how adorable Ace is in this issue. I’d love to see more of that.
