What You Need to Know:
Bane has taken over New York, he has the Foot Clan under his boot heel. After a terrible battle that the Turtles and Batman barely escaped from, Splinter was brutalized by Bane and is in critical condition. The Turtles escape but the damage has been done.

Batman and the Turtles are taking the fight to Bane. They are planning to attack him where his base is at the newly remodeled Statue of Liberty.

The team was glad to have Donatello back, as he synthesized the anti-Venom to revert the Foot Clan from Bane’s Minions to their original selves. The first part of the plan involves the Turtle Blimp. The Blimp is filled with the Anti-Venom Gas and he detonates it over the base, saturating the Foot Clan beneath, along with the mass of Venom affected bystanders that congregated on the island.

What You’ll Find Out:
There are so many panels here that are iconic in nature that I wish I could share the whole book, but the combined forces of Splinter, The Shredder and Batman is not something that I will easily forget.

What Just Happened?
While the Anti-Venom swirls about the Foot, incapacitating them April and Casey are working on evacuating the island.

Batman Splinter and Shredder handle Bane and it takes the three of them to knock him off the throne of the Foot Clan, but not as he endures one last betrayal.

Bane tries to appeal to the remaining forces of the Foot, including Bebop and Rocksteady. They are unsure of which way the wind is blowing and cower as the Shredder makes an inspired speech of his own.

Eventually Bebop and Rocksteady, beaten by Batgirl and Nightwing, desert Bane to be defeated by the combined might of the Turtles and Batman’s forces.

As the story winds to a close, Bane has been captured, and The Turtles do not understand why Shredder agreed to return to his prison cell. After some parting words and a gift for Donatello, he explains that the one thing that Shredder wanted was a Rematch. Then satisfied in his defeat by the Dark Knight, Oroku Saki agreed to return to his cell without a fight, thus recovering his honor in defeat, but ever stronger having regained control of the Foot Clan.

The story started with Donatello afraid that he was physically inadequate to help, and he wanted to talk to Batman. Batman thanks him and leaves him a parting gift; his training regimen. Batman is thankful for the help in stopping Bane, and as Raphael tries to share a moment with Damien, he assures the Turtle that if he had the chance he would take him down.  Lessons are learned by most, but Donatello has earned the respect of the World’s Greatest Detective.

Final Thought:
This is regrettably the last of the 6 issue Mini-series, which has been a Childhood dream come true! Between the rehashing of the first time around and the new shocking moments, this was a fun ride! Series High Points; Splinter in the Lazarus Pit, Raphael vs Damian, Venom infused Turtles and The Rematch between Batman and the Shredder. This arc (though not in the Rebirth Universe) certainly cements Bane as a major villain in the DCU. The series is an absolute treat, and the art of Freddie Williams II and James Tynion IV has a great grasp of the characters. Batman /TMNT II is accessible to both fans alike and is true to its source, to delight fans of both.
