Review

This issue did a great job keeping the excitement level high after the exciting end to the previous issue. At the same time, it manages to keep the wholesome moments and teen drama in the story.

This series is going an outstanding fob so far of balancing the aspects of Sabrina’s life without anything feeling either watered down or overwhelming. Sabrina actually feels like the new kid at school, struggling to find her place while adjusting to a new town but at the same time she is learning to be a witch and protecting Greendale from supernatural threats… at least, or so she thinks. This series really excels at making the characters feel natural, even in unbelievable situations.

The art in this issue does well matching the tone of the story as it shifts from high school drama to supernatural thriller and back again. There is a good flow as the story drifts from light to heavy with colors that perfectly portray the emotion of each panel. At times the tone alters even from panel to panel yet never feels disjointed or awkward.

This series so far has been a joy to read and has done a great job capturing both Sabrina and her supporting characters perfectly. A great read for fans of the character as well as in one looking for a good story filled with witchcraft and teenage life.

Final Thoughts

An interesting issue filled with fun and drama, complete with art that perfectly captures the tone of the story.
