Silver Surfer: Ghost Light #2: Resurrected

Writer John Jennings is giving readers old-school vibes! I had never heard of Ghost Light, and to see such an excellent character brought back into the fold, I salute Jennings. Rejuvenating forgotten characters is bold, especially when it may not do well. But new character Al Harper alone is a cool guy! He has multiple PhDs in Engineering, Physics, and Material Science. That’s a remarkable feat in the ’60s, let alone now.

Introducing Ghost Light after nearly fifty years is a fantastic experience to read. Marvel even used a few panels from Silver Surfer #5 (1969). Classic Marvel villains and heroes are reimagined to captivate a new audience. This series is sure to be exciting for readers of all ages. The Golden Age storyline refreshed allows a new storyline.

After mourning his friend for almost a decade, Norrin is confused and shocked at the sight of Al. Why is he resurrected? How did it happen? Who is responsible for this? And where did he get the cosmic power?

After some recollection, Al remembers. Norrin assists in trying to get his friend back home. But, unfortunately, a warm welcome does not await them. When Al’s sister sees Norrin and him, she panics: Who are you people?! While the reunion occurs, a powerful force is pursuing Al Harper. Everything is coming to light about this mystery, and Al Harper might have just put Earth in danger again. Can The Silver Surfer and Ghost Light defeat what’s to come?

And the artwork blended with work from the 1969 book. I loved it. Valentine DeLandro did the story justice. I bought the 1969 book on Ebay because of Delandro. Sure to be a fascinating series. I am looking forward to watching it evolve.
