Review

You can’t imagine how much I’ve been waiting for Snotgirl. So of course when it arrived I instantly devoured it, to the point I had to read it like 5 times cause the first one just wasn’t enough. This issue mantains what has made me fall in love with the other 14 ones, with that absurd humor in the middle of engaging emotional scenes I expect and love. I mean The Fire is certainly there but NO WORRIES cause Cutegirl is cute! Anyway, spoiler, Caroline and Lottie are Finally Girlfriends! I swear I shouted with those panels, specially for all their messiness and clumsiness. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
As a very nerd and kind of pose as cool/wish I was an Instagramer-girl with S T R O N G allergies, every Snotgirl chapter has arrived to my heart too much, and this is no different. When she finally gets to tell about her feelings to Caroline A.K.A. Coolgirl (shout out to the amazing creative team for exploring insecurities and jealousy in 2k20 dating scene with nuance), and all the messiness of it and Snotgirl lying on the ground cause of her allergies, even thinking it’s all gonna be over – but it’s nice cause it’s right by Coolgirl’s side and at leasts it’s goals -, is too sweet and really keeps you going to the last page. I also do feel how Lottie is gonna fall into a trouble spiral and I’m here for suffering with her. Ooops.
The art is astounding as always, but specially the wedding first scene and the last one with her, the volcano, the night tones, it gets extremely emotional and allegorical there – like they’re literally warning us of the emotional warning with a volcano! -. I kinda wish the cover was with Caroline and Lottie and the volcano instead of plus Virgil, which felt a little blunt and not related to the story, but one girl can’t get everything.
Now that I’m complaining, they’re going on hiatus again, so no Lottie for a while! 🙁 and also the story of this particular issue delivered exactly what we expected, with no further plot unfolding or mystery. So I’m here like, yeah this was amazing and has everything that has made me fall in love with Snotgirl, but I certainly Need More. Like Please!

Final Thoughts

If you loved #1-14 of Snotgirl, this one delivers. You're gonna scream and laugh and cry with it I swear! If you're not caught up or starting to get into Lottieworld, all I wanna say is you're gonna eventually have get everything you want of this series. It's gonna get messy! Complicated! Gay! And certainly there's a mystery there! Plus the art is constantly astounding and even gets better!
