Review
Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #4 is the last installment of of this first chapter of the post-Return Of The Jedi period. The issue picks up right where last issue left off with Kes Dameron and his team trying to escape from Adelhard’s ship, and things not going well.
The identity of the “Inquisitor” is quickly revealed as Luke makes short work of her, noting that the person is merely swinging the lightsaber and not using it like someone who has been trained. While a lightsaber battle like that with Vader doesn’t happen, it does show that Luke has progressed in his journey as a Jedi and begins to show the Master he will eventually become.
Segura also continues to flesh out the character of Adelhard and builds him up as a threat that he is looking to become as the next installment begins and builds toward the already established continuity building to the Battle of Jakku that sets the stage for Episode 7 – 9 and the other novels that build towards those installments.
The artwork continues to improve from previous issues and Rosenburg, as always, does an excellent job on the color work.
This first installment does an excellent job and sets the stage for the next two parts of the larger story
Final Thoughts
Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #4 closes out the first installment of the latest Star Wars saga, introduces and fleshes out Adelhard and the remaining Imperial forces and sets the stage for the Empires last stand on Jakku
