Recap

Review

This is really like getting a brand new Star Wars movie every month. Maybe a weekly Disney + series, but it’s on a bigger scale. In this issue, author Charles Soule takes us on a bit of a side-step from the main plot (don’t worry, there’s plenty of that) with what’s going on with larger than it needs to be cast of characters, but here’s the thing: the cast really DOES need to be that big, because they all have stuff to do and all play a pretty important part of the larget style. This issue is mapped out like a beauty, it combines story threads that were introduced in Star Wars: Bounty Hunters and the regular Star Wars series, proving that everything that we see in the movies has a larger and very interesting back story to it. From the Hutts to the Empire, it’s clear that they all have their own agenda and end goals, but Soule works them together and gives them all a trail of story breadcrumbs that leads the reader to the biggest part of what the story truly is. Boba, Luke, Leia, and Valance all get some great screen-time and great character moments in this issue and shout out to Lobot just cause I can.

Oh man, Luke Ross!! Can he please draw every book that I read? It would just make things easier for me in the long run. But honestly, what can I say about him that you already don’t know? I’m really glad that he’s on this book because I think by putting him on a major crossover miniseries, he’s finally gonna get the respect and recognition from both the industry and fans, that he should’ve gotten a very long time ago. If you’re an “art person” looking to get into the comics field, Ross should be one of the people whose work you seek out and study and this issue is a good example why you should do that.

Final Thoughts

The penultimate chapter of this mini-series reads as exciting as a climax issue would. All we have to do is enjoy the heck out of this issue, then wait at the very edges of our seats for the next issue to come out. You're reading this series, you're going to really enjoy this issue, but if you're reading all the tie-ins, this issue might make your head explode, but I hope not. I need retweets.
