Six continues to explore her past and future inside the Hawkins Lab in 1978. Her encounter with Three, a boy from her recent past, dredges up memories of her traumatic teenage years and abuse as she looks for her purpose in the world.
Review
What we see being crafted here by Houser and Salazar is a series very different from the first. This series seems intent on, at the very least, pointing the reader in the direction of some answers woefully lacking from the otherwise excellent Stranger Things show. We see a pattern of trauma emerging among the various children in the program, as we learn a bit more about Nine and are introduced to the newly admitted Eleven.
Fans of the show likely are filled with questions that are rarely, if ever, addressed in the show. Where did Eleven come from? What is the Upside-Down really? How much do we actually know about the Upside-Down? We get vagaries about the Lab but never its purpose. This series seems to be in the process of shedding some light on these and other mysteries of the Stranger Things universe.
Final Thoughts
Stranger Things: Six #2 begins to answer some of the questions fans of the show most certainly have making it a must-read for many!
