Suicide Squad #46: C-Lister in the Sea Takes an A-List Beating!

***WARNING: This review contains major spoilers!***

Harley and Deadshot were captured by the Atlanteans and HQ voluntarily and unwittingly reveals the Squad’s mission details. Queen Mera frees them so they can help find and bring down the rest of their team before they nuke Atlantis. Meanwhile, Aquaman is treating with King Shark and only needs to mention the Squad’s involvement for King to agree to help in order to get payback against Waller.

Atlantean patriot/defector Urcell leads Lord Satainis, Master Jailer and Killer Croc to the Silent School where they are to detonate the magically enhanced WMD. Jailer uses his unique psionic power to unlock the school’s vault where Satainis revels in the magical items stored there. Urcell tries to talk Satanis down from nuking her home, which he responds to by impaling her with a magical spear. Not soon after, they are set upon by Aquaman and his team of strange bedfellows. Shark goes straight after Croc and Aquaman is repelled by a magically empowered Satanis (with Master Jailer in tow), who erects a magical field between the heroes and the vault. By chance, Dolphin was inside the shield when Satanis erected it, and with a tearful goodbye to Arthur, she plunges after the magical madman alone.

Elsewhere, Queen Mera confronts the US ambassador regarding this attack upon her nation and threatens to unleash the fury of the oceans upon the surface world if Atlantis isn’t left alone in peace.
