Otto goes on a date with a colleague, the date goes well until Otto reveals his true identity. His date runs and is quickly attacked by some kind of nightmare demon thing that possesses her. Otto pulls some They Live shenanigans with his mask and spots demons ever, time to call in a specialist, Doctor Strange!
Review
This bordered on being a slow issue but managed to have some great moments nevertheless. I think Otto quickly calling Doctor Strange is yet another sign of his calm rational intelligence, where Spider-man would beat his head against the wall trying to figure it out Otto immediately realizes he’s out of his depth and calls in someone who isn’t. Brilliant.
The art by Mike Hawthorne is great, especially a short fight with Doctor Strange (it’s in the superhero handbook they have to fight) I love Otto sciencing his way out of a spell by Doctor Strange. I love his scientifically innovative mind that crafts solutions to new problems quickly, it almost reminds me of Iron Man more than Spidey.
Final Thoughts
A good issue in a great series, I can't wait for this team up I never dreamed of.
