Review

As one can assume, with the last issue ending with our heroes surrounded by mutants in action alley, this issue started with a bang… or, well… several bangs. This was a fun issues that added some interesting twists while revealing some interesting plot points.

This issue was a bit different than the previous two in that, instead of spreading the action throughout the issue, if gives it to us all up front to make way for some interesting plot developments. In this issue we learn where Barbara (Booga’s new kangaroo friend) came from, what created the horiffic mutants of Action Alley, and why those “Marsofu” burgers are so tasty. This issue did a great job tying plot threads together in preparation for this arcs conclusion in the next issue.

The art for this issue also took a slightly different direction, especially when it comes to the colors. Whereas the first two issues were more brightly colored with beige desert backgrounds, this issue had a much cooler tone with dark, rocky cliffs and factory interiors as the backdrop as it appears dusk has fallen.

This was another fun issue and a great set-up to the conclusion of this first arc. I’m excited to see how it concludes in the next issue.

Final Thoughts

Another great issue as the series takes on a slightly different tone in preparation to the conclusion of the first arc.
