Recap

It doesn't take Barry and Detective Burns long to realize that Iron Heights has not actually burned down or been taken over by fire monsters, but instead, the two of them have been drawn into Mick Rory/Heatwave's mind. While the two of them try to find a way to reach Rory's mind and escape from it, Commander Cold does his level best to safeguard the unconscious bodies.

Review

This arc is exploring the functions of the Sage Force. It is clear that, now that these Forces are free in the world, Williamson is responsible for explaining how they work and what they do. I assume this arc will be three parts as the last arc was and then, hopefully, we can all move on with our lives. So many dangling plot threads to get to (who is Cold? Where is Bart? Are the Renegades alive? Will Iris ever tell Barry the whole truth? Will Barry stop acting like a child placed in timeout?) make it difficult to get excited about this story. Barry being called out as a bad cop was pretty humorous, though.

Final Thoughts

This issue marks the fourth in a row that I just have not found much to enjoy. Hopefully, after this short arc, we will see a return to the quality levels this team and this book are capable of.
