Review

This issue was slow-moving despite the frequent action, a sure-fire sign of the “mid-arc blues”. “Force Quest” is undoubtedly headed towards an interesting conclusion/reveal, but it is taking its time getting there. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is somewhat challenging to stay engaged through such a formulaic, episodic event.

Aside from Duce’s slick pencils, of note in this issue is the notion that combining the power of two Forces seems to be the key to defeating a third Force, something that will no doubt be of importance before this business is all over, particularly as new the new Sage Force wielder (along with Powerhouse and her Strength Force) seem to be set up to be potential allies for Barry and Iris.

Final Thoughts

The continued ebb and flow of Williamson's run on The Flash makes for an incredibly inconsistent title that I just can't seem to stop reading. I want to know where it goes but the journey is arduous at times.
