Review

I don’t want Harbingers to end! This really is Valiant at its best. Since issue one, The Harbinger has been what Valiant is all about, fun, exciting SUPERHEROES! I hope we can get a “season 2” of this series after this arc ends!

As always, the writing is a good time, faiths dialogue is on point, and while at times her art doesn’t look like her, she always sounds like herself. Even when angry, her nerdy references make her a fun read that I can connect to. Seeing her kicking a villain’s butt is always a blast. While this issue isn’t as heavy as some of the other issues, it has some amazing scenes and really shows the amazing bonds the characters have made while setting up the final battle really well. This issue is the build-up issue, the calm before the storm if you will. This makes me believe that we are in for a huge exciting conclusion to this amazing story.

The art from Robbi is a favorite of mine; while sometimes his art of faith is a little different than what she normally looks like, I appreciate Robby’s artistic talents, and (as I’ve said before) he really is made for a fun, psychedelic, superhero comic like this. Plus, Robby’s amazing costume designs really are a huge stand-out of this series. We get to see a new hero emerge from this issue, and I love the look of their costume. The designs Robbi comes up with are really a fun mix of 90s classic and 80s party life (in the best way). Or maybe that is just Robbi’s cool psychedelic style! The color is done by Renzi flows so well with Robbi’s art, and to top that off beautifully, we get some amazing lettering from Hassan! I’ve said this before about other Valiant series, but I mean this, this is a dream team of talents. I’ve loved every issue of this series, and it keeps getting better!

I wish this issue had been a little longer, I would have loved to see more of faith fighting and verbally bashing bad guys, but I’m sure we will get more of that next issue!

Final Thoughts

It's such a shame, I really can't wait for the next issue, but the next issue is the last in this series! Hopefully we get more from the amazing talent behind this book, because this title deserves to be on comic shelves everywhere! If you haven't been reading this, go back and read it all, then you can thank me!
