If you could see into other people’s dreams, would you? Tremor Dose takes you on a beautifully terrifying trip of the mind like nothing else before. Michael Conrad has an uncanny ability to write a story that will not only scare you but thank him for doing it! The main character Ginn battles through the whole book battling her dreams, their meaning, and her own self-worth. At times, this book felt like a manual on the struggles that we face when approaching dreams and their meanings.
Each page feels like you are reaching into a bag of unknown fear and it feels great! Tremor Dose is not your average graphic novel to where you can speed your way through it, you must take your time and savor every detail of art and word that has been so graciously prepared by Michael Conrad and Noah Bailey. Ah yes, Noah Bailey. The art of Tremor Dose is rooted deep into your fear. Most of the book is in black and white, which adds to building on your fear in the storytelling, however, there are a few pages in color and when they pop up it is a mind-blowing wave of creepiness the overtakes you and continues to mesmerize.
The team of Michel Conrad and Noah Bailey have created something that puts readers in a situation that has them question just what reality is.
Final Thoughts
Tremor Dose is a brilliant read. I’ve been reading comics for over 30 years and I can’t remember a book that burrowed itself so deep in my mind that it almost takes over and you become overcame with cravings to read it over and over. It’s a rarity that you find a book that makes you champion that book to your friends as a must-own. READ THIS BOOK!
