Recap
At the height of their popularity and adventuring, the Umbrella Academy had no idea their leader, Reginald Hargreeves, had created an off-world prison to house their worst opponents. Review
With just a couple issues remaining, this series has truly kicked it into high gear with this fifth issue.
I would definitely consider the the most impactful issue so far. While our titular team of heroes is still mostly scattered, this issue has introduced a heap of dramatic tension to be dealt with in the upcoming issues. With the Academy’s most ruthless and violent villains now free, we are sure to be in for an action packed conclusion.
As usual, Bá’s art provides a great emotional depth to the issue with his signature stylized flair. The scenes taking place in Afterspace are awesome and extremely eye-catching while other scenes give a strong emotional connection to the issues each character is dealing with.
After reading this issue, I can only assume we are in for a wild ride in the last two. Way has built an amazing set-up here and I’m excited to see the follow-thru.
Final Thoughts
The plot has thickened and this series has built to what should be an awesome conclusion. I'm excited to see how Way finishes this one.
