Recap

The War of the Realms kicks into overdrive as Freyja, using Malekith's Black Bifrost, transfers all friendly forces to Midgard for one final push for the fate of the ten realms!

Review

A quick exciting read that seems to touch on all the bases the tie ins do and create some new ones, I loved the scenes between Freyja and Odin, Odin’s sweet vibranium armor and seeing some familiar faces (although the Light Elves were holed up in dwarf country last we saw IIRC) like the League of Realms (more on that in a different review). I like the pacing of this series so far as I wasn’t expecting the tides to begin to turn so early in the event, obviously Malekith can bust out some secret plan but it’s too soon to tell. I really thought Thor would be rescued at the end of the sixth issue or some nonsense, I’m delighted.

The downside of barely touching on scenes from tie ins is it renders some of them more or less pointless for substance in a way. I personally like it as it makes the tie ins optional, but some readers seem to feel ripped off.

The art by Russell Dauterman, Matthew Wilson and Travis Lanham continues to be some of the best of the best work of their respective careers, although it’s hard to tell for me, are Odin and Freyja dead? Eh, time will tell, I hope to one day own an Iron Odin action figure to go with my many Thors.

Final Thoughts

A fun facet of the series if you're enjoying this event, if you aren't why are you reading this?
