Review

This series from writer Greg Pak isn’t bad, I like the team and the objective is pretty clear cut, I just don’t feel the stakes are there. With one issue to go we already know how this is going to turn out, as such the joy is in the journey and although I am fairly entertained that only gets us so far. This issue did take a little time to help us get to know folks better, and the ads show us that several of the characters are getting solo issues or minis, it’s hard to tell with Marvel whether something is an ongoing, a one shot or a mini but that’s a conversation for a different venue. I loved the scene with everyone eating spam, this issue seemed more about character moments than the War of the Realms, and at this point that’s ok.

I liked the art from Gang Hyuk Lim a lot and the Muspelheim forces look awesome, I’m really happy with the action I see, poor Cho hahha. I like the heroes from various countries and how they still aren’t necessarily getting along, only to be schooled by Shang Chi! They don’t call him the Master of Kung Fu for nothing!

I despise it when covers are as misleading as this one and as such I’m knocking it down a couple points. I don’t think it’s a bad cover at all, artwise.

Final Thoughts

Decent fun in it's own right this series seems to be stepping away from the war and becoming it's own thing.
