Recap

Spider-man joins the vaunted League of Realms, next stop Africa and the Angels! As Spidey works on getting to know his team he realizes he's the only one that is above killing, how is this supposed to work?

Review

I HATE parts of this issue. Arguably this was the series I was most excited for and it has some good moments, but it is peppered with some bad jokes and a ridiculously stupid resolution culminating in what essentially boils down to a “Martha” moment that made me so mad.

I was very happy to see Screwbeard, Ud, the Aeser guy who’s name I can’t remember, Sir Honeyhand and Giant Lady, I love the league and they see maybe 5 minutes of action, I was glad to get a ‘SPLODE from Screwbeard at least. Also exciting was the inclusion of Kurse, whom folks following my reviews might recall me saying my one hope was a League of Realms v Kurse showdown as Kurse is actually the Malekith possessed former teammate, Waziria.

The art by Nico Leon wasn’t terrible but some scenes were a bit lacking, a big deal is made of the Angels doing… something? To the animals in Africa? We see maybe 2 elephants on fire, which is awful but doesn’t really convey the craziness mentioned. Likewise there are some character design features that are dropped like Screwbeard’s screw beard, and where the hell are Thor’s eyes?

Final Thoughts

If you aren't a fan of the League of Realms avoid this issue, if you are avoid it more.
