Recap

Deadpool joins the War Avengers (dumb name) in an offensive against Malekith in London, which we've already seen fail in War of the Realms 3, so why are we seeing it again?

Review

The Strikeforce books seem to be the weak point timeline-wise of War of the Realms, I don’t dislike getting in depth looks at the various goings on of War of the Realms, what I do dislike is getting it weeks after the actual mission in the book. Next week there are a whopping NINE War of the Realms books so don’t tell me it’s a matter of spacing them out, it feels sloppy and poorly planned, especially considering next week’s Land of Giants one shot, which is coming out a full month after the mission it portrays, and 2 weeks after the mission it portrays ends! What us the point of paying $4-5 for a book when you already read the ending? Meh! Meh I say!

That said this issue wasn’t bad, a bit on the silly side thanks to Deadpool being the central character, I liked the humor and especially the interactions with Namor, Captain Marvel is appropriately arrogant in dealing with Namor (not a comment on movie version, talking comics, stay away CG types I’m not on your side). My main problem is, again, we know how it ends, the issue holds minimal surprises.

The art looked pretty great especially Deadpool fighting the fire sharks toward the beginning. The varied cast of characters was well represented visually and tonally.

Final Thoughts

If you're wanting more War from your Avengers, or a little more story from the main series, this issue is fairly worth your time, despite being more or less unnecessary.
