Recap

Squirrel Girl gets dragged into someone else's conflict, after an illuminating talk with Loki, she sets out for Canada in an effort to stop the Frost Giant menace!

Review

In an odd turn of events this issue laid out some stuff that wasn’t mentioned in the main series yet, namely the divvying up of Earth to the various forces, although why the frost giants would get North America and not Antarctica I do not know, especially as a recent Thor issue did show us that they melt at high temperature.

Admittedly I have never read an issue of Squirrel Girl but I thought it was a decent enough read. I found SG being teleported away from her own adventure to join the war a quirky and funny dig at ongoing superhero comics being forced to drop everything for event tie ins, clever.

The art was fine, about what one would expect from a Squirrel Girl issue I suppose, understandably cartoon’ish and such. I did really like the look of the Frost Giants in general and the last page with Loki is pretty great.

Final Thoughts

A surprisingly info laden issue that was actually a decent albeit a bit dorky read. No major complaints.
