Review

A quick yet solid read in this conclusion to Venom’s War of the Realms arc, I titled last issue leaning into the skid as that’s what it seemed Eddie was doing with the Dreamstone, this issue he has course corrected and by the end is headed in a direction that might actually be helpful in the actual series.

I felt Cullen Bunn did a good job of organically having Eddie give up the stone, and the useful redirection of anger was a nice touch to help him brake the Dreamstone’s hold. For an issue that’s maybe 70% action, it still does a decent job in the story department.

The art by Iban Coello, Alberto Alburquerque and Robert Poggi (all 3 are credited, not sure who did what) looks a lot like what Ryan Stegman has been doing on the book, which I love. The fight scenes look really good which is great as that’s most of the book.

A nitpick, fire in NYC is basically the opposite of what has happened in literally every other WOTR book, which very prominently featured all of North America frozen over by Frost Giants. Whatever.

I’m ready for this thing to be over.

Final Thoughts

One tie in book down and a half dozen to go, this event is almost over and I'm coming out the other side.
