Weapon H #9

Recap
Review
It has been a fun ride thus far and each issue implores details on characterization and surrounding environments. Weapon H and his team are now in Weirdworld and the journey leads to new experiences. The last children of planet Inaku are now inhabitants and defenders of Weirdworld. Their reason for assaulting Weapon H and team made sense to anyone who has been invaded with loss of life. The lack of awareness and empathy created friction.
The reaction from each team member was specifically a point of interest with different goals. Not too much drama, but certainly entertaining through the obstacles that kept this storyline interesting. Especially, as Weapon H; a soldier with the strength of Hulk and the instincts of Wolverine, who leads with rules of engagement without making compromises. Blake the Brood-Human is another character that stands out in this issue. There have been some interesting versions of the Brood before, but none like Blake. He’s someone who should terrify us, but his personality provides humor to the story. The friendship developing between Tatania and Hara is touching, but concerning at the same time. The other characters found their common ground in a world that embraces monsters and unconventional means of defending themselves. Greg Pak perfectly places each character in the right kind of situation.
I anticipated that Agger’s secret would be huge, but I was up for a surprise ending of this issue. Pak knows how to yank those chains and then pull the rug right from under your feet. There have been a lot of twists in this mission and I have a feeling there is much more to come. Guiu Vilanova artwork grew on me in this issue. His talents carry out in each panel, especially the scenes specifically around Weirdworld. The coloring by Morry Hollowell fits well in this issue. The depth that went into colors enhanced the internal artwork, especially during the magical elements.
Final Thoughts
Weapon H #9 is a fun adventure into Weirdword with just enough of action and twists caused by Roxxon Corporation.
