Recap

Rj is a kid who has been alone most of his life, was brought in my Hydra to be a trained killer. The first target is Bucky Barnes. Bucky saves the kid; RJ is starting to open up. All of a sudden, his dad shows up and wants to be in his life. Rj has been through a ton of emotional trauma that Bucky has been working on with him. Everything they have worked on may come crashing down in this stellar story of betrayal and hope.

Review

I sat here thinking about how I wanted to write this review without sounding repetitive. Rj’s father is back, trying to gain his son’s trust back. There is more to meets the eye. Richie (Rj’s Father) is a con man. He wheels and deals with the worst of the worst. RJ thinks he is finished with this life. Bucky even gets Richie out of debt, cleared his name of everything.

One would think that would be enough, the ability to start fresh. It’s not for a con artist. He tries to bring his son into the new con. Of course, our Winter Soldier knows better. Continues to follow Richie. Not only is he a con man, but he is also part of Hydra. Needless to say, Bucky didn’t handle it well. Leaving this issue with a major cliffhanger.

At the beginning of my review, I stated that I didn’t want to sound repetitive. I cannot say how much I love this book. Writer Kyle Higgins gives Bucky a purpose, gives him a mission with heart. Bucky is just looking after this kid. Feels for him, but it never works out. Rod Reis on art, it’s outstanding. It shows the perfect expressions. Higgins and Reis team is one for the ages. I am heartbroken that next month this series ends. Look if you are not reading this book, read it! Trust me, I have not met a single person who has not been in love with this book.

Final Thoughts

I am giving it a 10 out of 10 because it deserves it.
