Giants War Part 2: When they run into Titans ripping up the landscape, Maggie and the Olympian ex-pats summon Diana to Rocky Mountain National Park. Wonder Woman along with Aphrodite and Giganta, yes, Giganta head off in search of trouble and find it — along with a quite a few puzzles. This issue opens with Giganta and Diana encountering one of these titans and after a difficult battle they find themselves questioning what they’re really up against. Are these titans or aren’t they? As the mystery deepens, the two are attacked again and they make more and more discoveries which only deepens the mystery. But it seems certain that their foes are there on a purpose. A purpose that the ex-pats happen upon by the end of the issue, which could mean major changes for one of them.
Review
This issue continues the Giants War arc with a few discoveries but nothing too major. The story is a good classic action story/frenemy roadtrip. It gives us a chance to see the relationship between Giganta and Wonder Woman in this post Rebirth universe, and to introduce her a little more properly to newer readers. The art continues in its sketchier, cartoony style which in most places meshes well with the fast pace of the story and I really like it. There were a few places, particularly at the beginning that the style is minimal to the point that it was distractingly simplistic and muted of the tension in the drama but over all it was a solid issue visually.
Final Thoughts
As a series, this book is in the best shape it’s been in for a long time, and is still highly recommended.
