Recap

Atlantiades’s followers demand a return to their normal lives, finding little satisfaction in their hedonistic cult. As Diana and the demigod deal with questions of choices and free will, Maggie’s sword makes at least part of its purpose known as she and Aphrodite try to unravel the mystery of Atlantiades’s purpose.

As things cool down with the residents of Connecticut, Maggie finds herself in hot water facing off against a colossus. We get a clue as to how the Olympians were sent to Earth and the implications for mortals and immortals alike.

Review

A somewhat longer-than-brief interlude has led us to another character and seems to have exchanged Diana’s traveling companions. The creative team seems to be slowly changing Diana’s old guard for heroes in a new vein. It remains to be seen if this is truly a new direction for Diana’s support network or if it a temporary arc before the familiar faces return.

Either way this issue pushes closer to discovering the fate of the mythological worlds while delivering an interesting commentary on balancing desire with duty.

Overall an enjoyable read with a message.

Final Thoughts

Love Is a Battlefield winds down with Part 3, and has started to set up for the next story. A good time to jump in or to look forward to the conclusion of another well-written arc.
