Review
This would be a beautiful issue if it was say #27 or #28, I was a huge fan of Schonn and Aric being together and despite my irked nerves with this issues, I still am. The problem isn’t the happily ever after ending but the sloppy way in which all the bounty hunter drama was ended. Now if you keep up with Valiant Entertainment then you absolutely know that the bad guys taking off with a piece of Shanhara will not go unanswered and Schonn abandoning her duties to reconnect with her estranged husband isn’t gonna end this smooth either. The problem is the last couple issues built up this potentially huge conflict just to brush it off for the time being in a single page.
I get why and I don’t totally disagree with the change of pace Kindt has done here but it’s hard not to feel cheated when the rug gets snatched from under you in such an underwhelming manner. That being said I do hope the pair deciding to play house blows up in their faces as bad as I’m expecting because if Valiant follows through with Kindt’s set up then it’s gonna be epic. Giant robot massacring things, alien civil war and the like all the ingredients for an awesome X-O Manowar pie…but that is a big if to hold your breath on.
Final Thoughts
Despite some pacing issues, it's still a decent enough issue. The future of X-O Manowar looks great even with this hiccup along the way.
