Cancelled: The following series have been cancelled or are on the bubble…..
Salvation (cancelled)
The CBS summer sci-fi about a meteor headed toward Earth is axed after 2 seasons leaving a cliffhanger suggesting it wasn’t a meteor but an alien ship.
Midnight, Texas (cancelled)
This is going to disappoint a lot of fans including us. At least most of the plot threads were wrapped up (but not all).
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist. Punisher (all cancelled)
Disney is beginning their own streaming pay service this year so you may see some of these returning but probably not in Netflix’s R rated format.
Z Nation (Cancelled)
This SyFy favorite has bit the dust.
ALSO CANCELLED:
Channel Zero (SyFy)
Counterpart (Starz)
The First (Hulu)
Into The Badlands (AMC)
Nightflyers (SyFy)
Outcast (Cinemax)
Travelers (Netflix)
Vikings (History)
Reverie (NBC)
The Gifted (Likely to be Cancelled)
This may cause a stir. The Cancellation Bear at TV By The Numbers is seeing this show as a probable cancellation. The ratings keep dropping and Disney might want this one out of the way so they can do a complete X-Men revamp for the movies and their streaming service. Sad face.
Manifest (Likely to be renewed)
Though numbers have slipped since the premier this show is still a strong contender to return next season. The big question is: why? The show has gone no where and the mysteries just keep piling up. They should have given the audience something about the plane and where it was for 5 and a half years but we got zip. Flash Forward or The Event, anyone?
The Orville (Toss Up, renewal likely)
This show has a small but strong following, and is more than likely a safe bet to return.
Roswell, New Mexico (likely to be renewed)
Although this show is fairly new the numbers are good for the CW and will probably get a second season.
The Passage (Toss Up)
Another new show so it’s early to tell but numbers suggest it may be renewed.
On a related note, there are rumors that The CW’s Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and possibly Supergirl will end after their next season (2019-2020). In the case of Supergirl, Superman may even take her place. We also have a Batwoman pilot in the works, but no word yet on a pick up.
These are the latest announcements as of February 25th 2019. Final results will be announced by May, so look for more news then. In the meantime if you want more Midnight, Texas, The Gifted, or any of the others it’s time to let the Powers That Be know! Last season Lucifer was cancelled by Fox and picked up by Netflix and will return this April. It’s always a long shot but if you’re passionate it’s worth a try. Write!
