Recap

***This review is spoiler FREE***

As a writer for a media website, I tend to want to see myself as more of a reviewer as opposed to a critic, hoping that some kind of equivocation between the two terms will garner myself some extra respect for what I do. But it doesn’t and won’t, so here I am regardless. Usually for comic reviews, I exclusively use my own opinion to sway my content, but for movies and television, I do research. And it's only then that I get swept up in the whirlwind of hype, fandom, agendas, corporate greed, true love; and for the most part, it’s pure nonsense. After my most recent foray into, and out of, that digital rabbit hole, I decided to add my voice to the pile of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, just because maybe someone, somewhere, might read it and decide to watch Glass and judge it for themselves. This was my meager contribution:

Review

“Well-scripted, intense, and above all, entertaining, James McAvoy ran away with the show with an incredible performance. Willis’ strong, silent presence was palpable. Jackson, as always, right on the money. Most of the hate for this movie rests on the industry’s hate for lost revenue and Shyamalan has not been popular. If you love solid, authentic storytelling, you’ll see that this movie is a love-letter to the genre, and everyone involved signed it. Just see it and make up your own damn mind.” It’s my genuine hope you’ll do so.

Final Thoughts

Shyamalan's third installment of the Eastrail 177 Trilogy is a more-than worthy capstone...with a twist!
