By Rob PriceJanuary 16, 2022Leave a comment

The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera, and The Invisible Man series.  These may not be the best the decade had to offer, but they helped shape a generation of filmmakers to come, and they all have a connection to Claud Rains.

What’s New on Home Video – January 4th – Antlers, British TV, & More!

By Mike SpringJanuary 4, 2022Leave a comment

The first few weeks of the year are traditionally slow for home video, and this week is no different, offering up just a couple of titles: a few horror flicks, a couple of British TV series, and some baseball to hold you over until Spring training.

Don’t Look Up: To Close for Comfort

By Rob PriceDecember 26, 2021Leave a comment

Don’t Look Up

The casting of this film is amazing, with several Oscar winners and box office draws. But this isn’t “that” type of science fiction movie. This is not Deep Impact or Armageddon. This is a satirical comedy looking at our government, with some very subtle and not so subtle caricatures of people in our current political system.

Scary Little Christmas: Krampus-You Better Watch Out

By Rob PriceDecember 24, 2021Leave a comment

Krampus (2015)

This is a horror movie with a conscience and a lesson to learn.  Most horror movies are morality tales, but this one, in particular, attempt to remind us not to lose the hope in our hearts and retain that magic that comes with the season.

Scary Little Christmas: A Christmas Carol (2020)- An Old Tale Told in Dance!

A Christmas Carol (2020)

Antlers: Hunger of the Wendigo

By Rob PriceDecember 19, 2021Leave a comment

Antlers

…the film is also overwhelmingly depressing.  A film needs a balance of highs and lows, comedy and drama, light and dark.  This movie is all lows, drama and dark.

Scary Little Christmas: Silent Night, Deadly Night– Have You Been Good?

By Rob PriceDecember 18, 2021Leave a comment

Silent Night, Deadly Night

Robert Brian Wilson was a great choice for the lead, he was very handsome and wholesome looking, with a kind and welcoming smile. But once he breaks, all warmth erodes away leaving only a vacant haunting emptiness in his eyes.
