Marvel unveiled the next leg of the Ghost Rider’s long journey with Spirits of Vengeance, a new ongoing series launching in September. Following The Hood’s stint as a spirit of vengeance, the series is written by Sabir Pirzada and drawn by a rotating set of artists starting with Sean Damien Hill. The book follows as the villain Vengeance returns to the Marvel Universe to hunt down his fellow revenge driven spirits. Each demonic entity defeated will embower the villain further, and puts Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, Robbie Reyes, The Hood, Kushala, and more into the hellfire crosshairs.
Pirzada spoke about returning Vengeance to the Marvel Universe in the press release, stating:
“It’s finally time for Michael Badilino to make his long-awaited return as Vengeance, aided by the likes of Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, and more. The bloody new era for the Spirits of Vengeance starts here — with a shocking ending you won’t see coming.”
Alongside the announcement, Marvel also shared a look at Kendrick Lim’s main cover and the first variant cover, drawn by Declan Shalvey. Those covers can be seen below.
