Following Alex Ross’s Award-winning, bestseller Fantastic Four: Full Circle, Abrams ComicArts is continuing its MarvelArts line with The Avengers in The Veracity Trap, an original graphic novel from Eisner Award winner Chip Kidd and acclaimed artist Michael Cho.
The mind-bending, visually sumptuous saga will take the Avengers and the reader on an adventure that questions the very nature of heroism, villainy, and existence.
This is the Marvel Comics writing debut for Kidd, the award-winning designer who has created everything from the Jurassic Park logo to iconic book covers for novelists like Dean Koontz, John Updike, Haruki Murakami, and David Sedaris.
As a designer, Kidd’s work has transformed the art of book design. As Time Out New York once wrote, “the history of book design can be split into two eras: before graphic designer Chip Kidd and after.”
As a writer, he’s created cult classic novels and left his mark on Batman with his series Batman: Death by Design.
And now, he’s going to make a splash in the Marvel universe with he and Michael Cho’s beautiful, metafictional tribute to Jack Kirby and Marvel’s Silver Age.

Beginning with an epic battle in Asgard, Loki, the god of mischief, comes into possession of a weapon of unimaginable power and assembles an army of otherworldly monsters in an effort to carry out his evil plans.
