DC is sending Absolute Batman #1 back to its fourth printing after selling out once again at the distributor level. The comic stated previously the issue is the best selling comic of 2024, seemingly continuing the trend with the new version. When the book goes on sale this Christmas, it will have a main and variant covers by series artist Nick Dragotta, a black and white wraparound foil variant cover by Dragotta, and a variant cover by Simone Di Meo.
The Absolute line, which operates in a similar manner to Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, is an opportunity to build heroes from the ground up. Synder, Dragotta, and co. offer a Batman with a living mother, antagonistic Alfred, and no wealth to back up his mission of vengeance. Rounding out the Absolute trinity is Absolute Wonder Woman by Kelley Thompson and Hayden Sherman and Absolute Superman by Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval. Also announced for next year are Absolute Flash, Absolute Martian Manhunter, and Absolute Green Lantern.
