As The Rising of the Shield Hero anime is airing every week and keeping the fans excited with more isekai fun, we’ve got more exciting news for you. Starting from May 4, 2022, The Rising of the Shield Hero anime will debut in its English Simuldub on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
Under ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) direction of Steve Staley (famous for his work on Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story), the English dub is set to air.
The cast members have also been revealed, they include:
- English voice of Naofumi Iwatani – Stephen Fu (Wonder Egg Priority)
- English voice of Raphtalia – Erica Mendez (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba)
- English voice of Filo – Brianna Knickerbocker (The Seven Deadly Sins)
- English voice of Ost Horai – Amber Lee Connors (Komi Can’t Communicate)
- English voice of Kyo Ethnia – Sean Chiplock (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind)
- English voice of Eclair Seaetto – Dawn M. Bennet (Black Clover)
These voice actors will be taking care of English dub for the whole second season. The anime is based on the original manga created by Aneko Yusagi and Seira Minami was in charge of illustration. The director of season 2 is Masato Jinbo who also directed Restaurant to Another World.
Synopsis of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2:
“Following the first season, Naofumi vows to fight and defend his nation after learning how other nations are enduring the Calamity Waves. However, a new twist adds up to the story. A massive Spirit Tortoise is on the move, and it could destroy the whole country if left unchecked. Naofumi assembles his companions to fight against, but it seems, the legendary beast tortoise has been let loose intentionally.”
