BOOM! Studios shared a first look at The Neighbors, one of their newest five-issue limited series. The title is written by Jude S. Doyle (Maw) with art by Letizia Cadonici (House of Slaughter), and colors from Alessandro Santoro (Bloom). The announce follows right after BOOM!’s announcement at ComicsPRO 2023 of previous limited series Damn Them All and Briar being upgraded to ongoings.
The horror series is set to release issue #1 on March 22, and follows the Gowdie family as they wades into the terrors of their small mountain town. The Neighbors #1 will also feature cover art by artists Miguel Mercado (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Rámon K. Perez (Jane, Stillwater), Frany (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Fábio Moon (Daytripper), and Ariela Kristantina (Maw).
BOOM! has provided those variant covers, along with the first few pages along with a synopsis of the series, all of which can be seen below:
When Janet and Oliver Gowdie move to a quaint mountain town, their daughter Casey becomes part of a horrific chain of events revealing that their neighbors are anything but what they seem. Soon, an unsettling old woman named Agnes Early fixates on Janet and Oliver’s other daughter–2-year-old Isobel.
It becomes clear that it’s impossible to know who to trust… or who is even still human…
