BREAKING NEWS: Iron Fist Cancelled by Netflix – No Season 3

News broke late yesterday that Netflix has decided to pull the plug on the Marvel Entertainment series Iron Fist. The news seems to come from left field and leaves fans in a state of shock. Though no official reason has been given, fans of the series have lauded praise for a much improved season 2 after starting on very weak footing in season 1. Fans have even gone so far to speculate that due to recent developments in the series, the Daughters of the Dragon may not have been far behind. A spinoff seems unlikely in the wake of the parent shows cancellation.

Marvel nor Netflix have divulged any further information about what will happen to the series cast members. It is possible that any of them could begin to make appearances in Netflix sister shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Daredevil or in a hail mary play, the series could find a new home on Disney’s upcoming streaming service.

“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix and Marvel said in a statement released to Deadline. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew, and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership, we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the Immortal Iron Fist will live on.”
