In a move that could only be described as a comic book level superhero second chance James Gunn has been rehired to the position he was dismissed after a furor over several very off-color postings on social media over from last July.
Deadline has exclusively revealed that Gunn has been rehired and that this has been confirmed by both Gunn and Marvel. The decision comes after Disney Studio head Alan Horn met with Gunn who issued an apology and had several meetings to discuss what had happened. Horn was convinced by Gunn’s handling of the whole matter to reverse the decision.
Gunn’s return was also complicated by his agreement to direct the Suicide Squad sequel and Gunn has agreed to resume his work on GOTG3 on completion of his work on Suicide Squad 2.
