It looks like DC Comics isn’t abandoning the dark tone yet! You heard it right, Robin just dropped an “F bomb” on the trailer for the DC Universe’s very first live-action series. While this is just our initial looks of the TITANS cast in action featuring Robin, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, and even a sneak peak at Hawk and Dove, it is important to note that one of DC Comics most popular characters ever was also mentioned, Batman.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating how this new DC content will play into the larger universe knowing characters like Batman and Superman must exist, so it is interesting to see that the DC Universe streaming service isn’t keen on avoiding the subject. Will we eventually see Batman make an appearance on TITANS? After a mention in the trailer, however brief, it definitely raises the question.
Not only do we have the first official trailer, but with the DC Universe booth at SDCC kicking off, we got our first look at the full wardrobe of the TITANS cast as well. While this shows a detailed look at each of the major characters, it also confirms the somewhat controversial costuming decision behind Starfire. Now that we have a chance to see her in action during the first trailer though, it looks as if the talented Anna Diop will give fans a powerful Starfire character.

The TITANS live-action series features Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson, with Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
If you haven’t read it yet, here is the official synopsis provided by DC Comics.
“Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.”
Although there hasn’t been a release date announced yet, fans can expect the TITANS series to begin streaming alongside the highly anticipated release of the DC Universe streaming service later this year.
As always, check back for more information as it releases on both the TITANS series and the DC Universe streaming service. We will be watching.
