Series writer Warren Ellis announced the return of the Netflix series on Twitter Friday.
CASTLEVANIA is set to return this summer according to the series producer and writer, Warren Ellis. Ellis announced on his Twitter Friday that the animated series would return to Netflix for a second season consisting of eight episodes. The first four-episode season premiered July 7th, 2017.
The series, announced in 2015, centers around the universe created by Konami’s Castlevania game series. Specifically, it centers around the 1989 NES game Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Set in 1476 where Dracula has control over Europe, hero Trevor Belmont journeys to defeat Dracula enlisting the help of the sorceress Sypha Belnades, the pirate Grant Danasty, and Dracula’s own half-vampire son, Alucard.
No specific date has been set, but Castlevania has secured its spot in the summer Netflix lineup.
