50-Odd Years of Big Noses
by Hunt Emerson
Yep! Britain’s greatest underground cartoonist Hunt Emerson has been creating wild and wonderful comics for more than 50 frantic years.
Hunt Emerson‘s 50-odd Years of Big Noses contains the untold and often hilarious stories behind those five decades of surreal strips, as told by Hunt himself.
Illustrated throughout with cartoons and pages from obscure corners of Hunt’s archive, and stuffed full of irreverent chat between the maestro of mirth and journalist Rory Milne, 50-odd Years of Big Noses has pathos and laughs by turn.
In 2023, journalist/writer Rory Milne contacted me to ask if I was aware that it was 50 years since my first comic strip (of sorts) appeared in print, and suggested we do an interview. I agreed, and we had a 90 minute phone chat, which barely got us started. So we went on to have 5 more long chats, Rory transcribed them, and by this time we decided we were possibly looking at a book. I began designing and laying out the book – at that time tentatively titled “50 Years Underground”. Well, I was doing this work in my downtime, so 50 years have now become 50-plus years.
Our phone calls covered a lot of ground, from my earliest attempts at comix, through many years and many pages, and seemed to involve a lot of laughing. I’m including as much illustration as I can, using comix and illustrations that have not been widely seen, and the book is now pushing 220+ pages.
So journey back to Hunt’s heady Seventies, relive his prolific Eighties, blush at his smut-filled Nineties, marvel at his eclectic 2000s, wince at his cash-strapped 2010s, and celebrate him reaching today with work still on the books and his faculties somehow still intact!

Collected for the first time in softcover, Chester Gould’s DICK TRACY makes a triumphant return to print by Clover Press and LOAC!
A new cycle of DICK TRACY returns to print as part of Clover Press’s line of deluxe slipcase editions!
Chester Gould’s iconic yellow-clad gumshoe steps into the swinging ’60s in four volumes collecting newspaper strips from 1961-1964, in softcover for the first time!
Dick Tracy debuted in newspapers on Sunday, October 4, 1931! Creator Chester Gould wrote and drew the hard-boiled daily strip until 1977, before passing it to writers and artists who continue the strip to this day. Through Gould’s nearly five decades of dedication on the strip, he created a pantheon of eclectic supporting characters like Flattop, B.O. Plenty, Junior Tracy and Moon Maid that make Tracy the beloved character he is today.
The Library of American Comics remastered and collected the strip in a series of hardcover collections, many of which are out of print and highly sought after. Now, Clover Press and the LOAC are bringing the collections back to print in an affordable softcover format!
We’re collecting the strip strictly by year, reprinting each installment from January 1 to December 31. Each volume will measure 11? x 8.5? in a horizontal format, and features a premium lay-flat binding for an optimal reading experience. Additionally, each book will slide into a vertical slipcase, designed for protection and easy shelving. Plus, each year’s collection features a new cover by a diverse selection of today’s popular artists!
This time, we’re thrilled to offer DICK TRACY from years 1961 to 1964. By backing this campaign, you will receive all four volumes at once. Also available are commemorative prints of each of the covers by Cat Staggs, Brent Schoonover, Howie Noel, and Daniel Hillyard, plus trading cards, stickers, and a lithograph that recreates a fascinating image from 1963 that no Tracy fan should be without.

Love is Simple #1 – A NSFW Mythological Comedy
From the Ringo winning team behind Smut, this 24 page comic follows Aphrodite’s identity crisis after she causes the Trojan War!
In Greek, there’s seven different words for love, in English, only one. What if that’s not a quirk of linguistics? What if Aphrodite changed the meaning of Love to suit her means?
Love is Simple is a 5-part comic miniseries from the creative team behind the Ringo Award winning comic SMUT! This is our retelling of Greek Mythology as a supernatural erotic comedy, focusing on Aphrodite’s identity crisis after she (totally accidentally) caused the Trojan War, her friendship with Persephone, and the relationship drama (and tons of sex) she causes by trying to force love to be less complicated. Think Lore Olympus meets Sex Criminals.
In a contest between Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena, Paris was bribed by all three to judge them the most beautiful. Ultimately, he went with Aphrodite’s promise to bed the most beautiful woman in the world and, in doing so, triggered the Trojan War. Aphrodite would later describe kidnapping Helen of Troy as “a bit of a whoopsie.”
Struggling to reconcile her role as the Goddess of Love and her actions that led to mass slaughter, Aphrodite asks to her friend Persephone to help her get through this extraodinarly difficult time. After attempting to talk it out (and drinking a LOT of wine), Aphrodite decides that Love needs to be simple. No more jealousy, no more modesty, no more strife.
Welcome to the first issue of the greatest myth never told! Sex, war, yearning, and pomegranates run wild in this fun, sexy romp of a comic made by the best team in the game! This is Love is Simple!
