False Flag

Current Funding: $377
Funding Goal: $2,500
Days Left: 26
Link: False Flag
A single father mourns the loss of his son in the aftermath of a mass shooting when a burgeoning celebrity conspiracy theorist gaslights his small town, demanding proof the tragedy occurred. FALSE FLAG explores grief interrupted.

Danial Smith led a quiet and secluded life in his rural Michigan town. That quiet seclusion is shattered when a mass shooter kills his son, Robert, and 12 others. The mass shooting rocks the town. Daniel mourns the loss of his son in his own way, set on business as usual as the town tries reaching out. Daniel’s attempts at mourning are interrupted when Henry Perkins, a burgeoning conspiracy theory podcaster, arrives in his small town and demands proof the tragedy occurred.

The story touches on a controversial and sensitive topic and I understand this might be hard for a lot of people to ingest. At the core of the story, it’s about what happens when you interrupt the grieving process. Worse, is what happens when the grieving process of a parent who lost a child in a mass shooting is interrupted. FALSE FLAG also explores what happens when the lies you’ve told are exposed, and the dangers of gaslighting in our media ecosphere. Any parent might empathize with the characters in this story, from the survivors to those who’d lost the most.

This was one of the toughest stories that I’d written, let alone illustrated. I took a horror comic approach as Daniel is haunted by the ghost of his son, and hounded by the monster Henry. With your support, we can get the first of five issues in your hands, and the next issue moving forward.

Box of Tapes: A Rock Opera LP/Graphic Novel

A story of love, loss, violent anti-technological revolution, and…cassette tapes. Told on vinyl record and graphic novel!

Current Funding: $3,695
Funding Goal: $5,500
Days Left: 10

Box of Tapes is a rock opera on vinyl record and graphic novel: one story told through music and comic art. We are Ezra Gale, aka The Eargoggle—musician, songwriter, producer, and comic book nerd—teaming up with an incredible group of artists: Luis SantamarinaPatrick LugoMattias Zanetti (our letterer), and vocalists Forest VanDykeJessica Jelliffe, and Christian Gibbs. Together, we’ve created Box of Tapes, a 16-song, 64-page graphic novel that lets you decide how to experience it. Want to dive into the graphic novel, vibe with the record, or immerse yourself in both at once? It’s designed to work beautifully however you choose.

This isn’t just music or comics—it’s a fully immersive journey. The songs and the story are intertwined, creating a world you can live in. You decide whether to flip through the pages or let the music take you there, but either way, you’re in for a visceral, emotional ride. As artists like Anthrax and Tori Amos pair classic albums with graphic novels, Box of Tapes is something new—a new double album and graphic novel made as one complete experience.

Box of Tapes tells the story of The Teen, a young man living with his father in a city without electricity. Outside, people huddle around bonfires, while inside, candles flicker to push back the darkness. Against this haunting backdrop, The Teen navigates a world of love, grief, and rebellion—fueled by cassette tapes.

This isn’t just a post-apocalyptic tale—it’s a deeply emotional journey. As you step into The Teen’s world, you’ll confront the pain of loss, the fire of rebellion, and the ache for connection. Every song, every page, pulls you deeper into a story that feels both otherworldly and eerily familiar.

As the Teen listens to cassettes from the box of tapes he found in Dad’s attic, he’s pulled into a journey of discovery- one that unlocks the mystery of his mom’s disappearance. As the past (drawn in stunning two page spreads drawn by Lugo) bleeds into the present (in gorgeous pages by Santamarina), the story and the art intertwine towards a shattering conclusion.

Terry Moore COVERS

Over TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE color covers spanning Terry Moore’s thirty plus years in comics!

Current Funding: $114,334
Funding Goal: $25,000
Days Left: 20

Terry Moore COVERS collects over two hundred seventy five covers spanning Terry’s thirty plus years in comics! Enjoy every cover from all of Terry’s series in one giant FULL COLOR edition! This collection includes covers from Strangers In Paradise, ECHO, Rachel Rising, Motor Girl, Strangers In Paradise XXV, Five Years, SIP Kids, Serial and Parker Girls.

Terry has been privileged to work with some amazing colorists throughout his career. Three of his favorites have colored the three versions of Terry Moore COVERS offered as rewards.

Brian Miller (hardcover edition) colored Strangers In Paradise covers beginning very early in the series. His eye for detail and ability to bring the characters to life makes working with him a joy.

Steve Hamaker (special edition) began working with Terry during his Strangers In Paradise days. He went on to color many of the ongoing series including the only color series we have published, SIP Kids. His amazing sense of color brought Terry’s characters to life. It is such a pleasure to watch his creative process on Twitch as he colors Terry’s covers.

Tom Gaadt (softcover edition) colored the cover and interiors of Hot Girls, Cold Feet as well as special prints, ads and anything else we threw at him. His spot on interpretation of Terry’s cryptic notes and his uncanny ability to get the colors just right keep us coming back for more.

These talented artists help make Terry’s stories much more real than we could ever imagine. Thank you gentlemen!

THE COMPLETE LITTLE NEMO IN SLUMBERLAND – Hardcover Edition

The complete collection of Winsor McCay’s legendary “Little Nemo in Slumberland” in a Single Hardcover Edition

Current Funding: $7,367
Funding Goal: $720
Days Left: 42
One of the most influential figures in American popular comic art, Winsor McCay remains a revered figure in animation and cartooning. Through his wildly popular strips, “Little Sammy Sneeze”, “Dream of the Rarebit Fiend”, and “Little Nemo in Slumberland”, McCay established himself as one of the most talented and imaginative artists in the United States.
Little Nemo in Slumberland first ran in the New York Herald from 1905 until 1911. It was renamed In the Land of Wonderful Dreams when McCay took it to William Randolph Hearst’s New York American, where it ran from 1911 until 1914. When McCay returned to the New York Herald-Tribune, he revived the strip under its original title and it ran from 1924 until its last appearance in early 1927.
Little Nemo in Slumberland depicted the title character having fantastic dreams interrupted as he woke up in the final panel. It is widely regarded as McCay’s masterpiece for its experiments with the comics form, its use of color, the varying size and shape of its panels, panoramic perspectives, architectural detail, and sheer imagination. McCay’s work has influenced virtually every other comic creator in the medium.

Funding Goal: $45,500
Days Left: 12
Jason Pearson’s BODY BAGS: Artist’s Edition is a 200-page hardcover book, featuring full-sized 12” x 17” color scans of all the original BODY BAGS comic art pages that were previously published and printed, including his covers. In short, an Omnibus Edition of Pearson’s original art pages from his acclaimed creator-owned series.

BODY BAGS was the late Jason Pearson’s creator-owned comic book series that took the industry by storm in 1996 and continues to captivate fans and fellow creators to this day. With a story focusing on an estranged father/daughter relationship, set slightly in the future and inside the world of bounty hunters and cold-blooded killers, Clownface and Panda’s story hit an emotional cord with many readers that has not faded over time.

Each page of this modern comics masterpiece was written and drawn by Pearson, who considered Mack (aka Clownface) and Panda his most important creations, and their story the thing that would most define his legacy. While Jason might not be a household name, his stamp on the industry was profound, and this collection of his most studied and admired work truly captures a piece of history.

If funded, this oversized collection of the original art pages from all of Jason’s published Body Bags stories will be included in this impressive hardcover bookproduced and published by Scott Dunbier (the originator of IDW’s Artist’s Edition series) of Act 4 Publishing and Keven Gardner of 12-Gauge Comics.

End of Zed: Issue #1

A robot’s odyssey of survival,discovery & purpose

Current Funding: $990
Funding Goal: $1,500
Days Left: 18
“End of Zed” is a comic book project I’ve been developing for years, born from a screenplay and inspired by New York’s raw energy, its art, fashion, and music scenes. As an artist with over 25 years of experience, and as someone who lived through the golden era of graffiti, this project is my creative vision brought to life—a gritty, vibrant story that’s unlike anything out there.
Zed, a battered robot with no memory, crash-lands in the gritty streets of 1980s New York City. As he navigates this harsh world, Zed embarks on a journey to uncover his past and purpose. Amid the decay of the city and the vibrant rise of Hip Hop and Graffiti, Zed must decide if his arrival was an accident or part of a greater destiny. Will the city break him, or will it awaken the hero within?
This isn’t just another comic; “End of Zed” blends the rebellious, energetic spirit of NYC with a thrilling, dystopian narrative. I’ve designed every character and setting, pulling from my passion for graffiti and underground culture. It’s a story that hits hard visually and thematically, with fast-paced action and deep cultural references. If you love bold, unapologetic storytelling and art that challenges norms, “End of Zed” is for you.

Let Us In: An Anthology by Non-US-Creators

Current Funding: $1,505
Funding Goal: $5,500
Days Left: 15
In LET US IN, a slice-of-life comic anthology, six creative teams of international comic book creators combine reality and fiction to tell their real-life stories as they attempt to break into the US-centric comic book industry.
This book is about its creators, their struggles, and how they reflect the comic book industry and the world’s state. It’s a mix of reality and fiction, as the creators seem fit to tell a genuine story of fighting for your dreams in a foreign industry.

The comic industry owes us nothing, and we chose this path, yet conditions could improve – vastly – and they could begin to value us more.

Is all of this present in other industries? Probably. Does it make it less of a problem? Nope. It’s time to speak up.
