KILLER COSPLAY Graphic Novel

When a serial killer is loose at Comic Con, dressing up in cosplay can be murder!

Current Funding: $2,300
Funding Goal: $3,000
Days Left: 27
Link: KILLER COSPLAY Graphic Novel

Lucas Tanaka has returned to his hometown to promote his wildly successful independent comic at the local comic convention. There may even be something big he’ll be announcing while he’s there that most comic creators only dream of, and all his friends will be on hand to support him. But what happens when a serial killer starts praying on fans dressed as the lead character from Lucas’s comic? Will old friendships withstand creative differences? Can Lucas figure out what is going on? Will any of his friends make it out of comic con alive? Find out in this horror-who-done-it. The only thing we know for sure is at this comic con, dressing up in cosplay can be murder.

Killer Cosplay is the brainchild of John Marroquin and Tony Miello. As lifelong horror movie fans, we often spent the time at comic conventions talking about our favorite slasher films. In 2024 that conversation became “What if a slasher movie took place at a comic con?” and the idea for Killer Cosplay was born. In the months that followed we spent our time not just outlining the story but creating our own horror universe. With this Kickstarter we hope to bring that universe to you.

Within the world of Killer Cosplay, independent comics are a driving force in entertainment. Two comic books in particular, The Curse of the Hangman and Extinction Event, are so popular they are becoming pop culture juggernauts. We became so excited about these comic ideas that we decided to create them as well.

As you know, an idea is just a thought in your head until it is acted on and becomes tangible. By supporting this Kickstarter you will be helping us make our idea real. You will be able to get this book months before Source Point Press releases it to retailers, and once funded, The Curse of the Hangman (by Tony Miello and John Marroquin), and Extinction Event (by Nick Miello and Logan Bennett) will be unlocked as stretch goals for this campaign.

What if everyone told you that your entire life had been a dream?

In Issue #1, Detective Caleb Stone’s wife Sara vanished from a Los Angeles gas station — and everyone told him they were never married. That the woman he remembered waking up with that morning had died years ago!

Now, in Issue #2, Caleb knows exactly when Sara died. September 7th, 5:40pm, 2019. He’s got his eye on a notebook that maps every breach through time. And he’s got one chance to save his wife before the crash that took everything from him.

But when he finally reaches the moment that took everything from him — the truth waiting on the other side will shatter everything he thought he knew.

Tallulah Hsu is a mysterious 15-year-old kid who says she’s from the future.

She’s bitter and neurotic, and dangerous when cornered — and she’s the only person who doesn’t look at Caleb like he’s insane.

Now, Tallulah warns Caleb: trying to save his wife is a suicide mission. He doesn’t understand how big this is.

The only way to save his wife — to save everyone — is to follow her somewhere impossible.

Pure brain candy that escalates the stakes with every page.

This 34-page, full-color comic book is the next chapter in a new sci-fi saga — issue number two of a 6-issue limited series.
Issue #2 is where the training wheels come off. The conspiracy goes deeper. The future gets darker. And Caleb’s determination to save his wife leads him somewhere he never expected.

The Monster, and now his Bride, are around every corner—their faces plastered on the sides of buildings, ringing your doorbell on All Hallow’s Eve, mascots for terror and the pain of existence. And the mad scientists who create them, immortal archetypes representing man’s penchant for playing God. But what about the woman who created them all over 200 years ago…lost in the shadows of human nature, where she lived, dreamed, and died?

Koren Shadmi—master of nonfiction behind critically acclaimed biographies such as The Twilight Man: Rod Serling and the Birth of Television, Lugosi: The Rise and Fall of Hollywood’s Dracula, and All Tomorrow’s Parties: The Velvet Underground Story—is turning his attention, and ours, to this seldom celebrated figure with…

A powerful and artistically sensitive look at the life of Mary Wolstonecraft Shelley: a motherless girl raised in a grey England, swept up in her father’s literary world of politics and philosophy, lovestruck at sixteen, penniless, and plagued by a series of tragic births and miscarriages. By the tender age of twenty, Mary had already lived through more than her fair share of hardships.

But one day, Mary was struck with divine inspiration on a trip to Lake Geneva where she conceived of the work that would forever change the course of history and culture: Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, published a year after its execution in 1817…anonymously.

Bring the Mother of Horror and Science Fiction back into our consciousness…

SHE FELL – A 100-Page Illustrated Horror

How a woman perpetually falling from a building changes an entire town.

Current Funding: $2,613
Funding Goal: $1,500
Days Left: 13

“I saw a woman falling from a building on my way to work. On my way home, she was still falling.”

A 100-page horror story about a city forced to face the fragility of life when they see a woman perpetually falling from a building in the center of town

Like the other books in this line, SHE FELL is written to press against the membrane, to find that hyper specific but somehow universal dread that comes from being alive, feeling like life is too short but never quite knowing how to fill the time.

Printed at the same size as the original art, this pocket sized story is designed, like the others in the series, to become the haunting object. The ideas in these stories are swirling, poking at you from all angles to find every possible way the core idea can unsettle you. Better to have it contained in an object you can keep track of.

Build & Play

A collection of webcomics by Margreet de Heer

Current Funding: $960
Funding Goal: $576
Days Left: 8
BUILD & PLAY is the motto I have chosen for the year 2026. And those two first months had a lot of both!

Hi! I’m Margreet de Heer, a comic artist living partly in Amsterdam and partly in Northern Germany.

In January and February 2026 I comic-journaled every day on my Substack – it started as a spontaneous challenge, but I soon realised I was chronicling a very special time in my life…

I quite literally got caught in a snow storm; I lost my car; I travelled back and forth between Amsterdam and Ostrhauderfehn nonetheless; I did a remote Valentine with my husband and our girlfriend; and last but not least: I directed the renovation of the house I’m living in (my mom’s house).

Funding Goal: $3,000
Days Left: 17

The five issue first arc covers his origins and his early fights against enemies such as the warlock Aleister Crowley and the bruiser Amalek. It also brought him into contact with allies such as the magician Harry Houdini, the journalist Nellie Bly, and the activist/anarchist Emma Goldman. Set against the backdrop of the Gilded Age, Jake must decide how best to use his powers to protect the American Dream for everyone.

And now, he’s needed again. With new and returning villains on the horizon, Liberty is also going to need some new allies in his fight to protect the American Dream for all Americans of all backgrounds.

Continuing on from the pulse pounding cliff hanger in issue 6, Issue 7 continues the battle in Union Square, and the consequences that comes soon after! Issue 8 continues our adventure as the devious Crowley pushes his machinations onto New York, using the climate of fear and suspicion to his advantage!

Can Liberty and his new allies combat a menace in the shadows who now has his hands on the levers of power?

With covers by Dody Eka, Vasco Gioachini, and current X-Men artist Netho Diaz (don’t worry, he did this before he went Marvel exclusive!), we got exciting adventures in store for you!

Stephen R. Bissette’s TYRANT Historic Deluxe Editions

The comic book masterpiece finally collected in both complete and original art editions, lovingly designed by Jim Rugg

Current Funding: $221,204
Funding Goal: $50,000
Days Left: 18

Legendary creator Stephen R. Bissette‘s work with Alan Moore on SWAMP THING helped revolutionize the comic book medium and changed horror fiction forever. A decade later he chased after a childhood dream and broke ground on his most ambitious project: the life story, told as realistically as the science of the times would allow, of a Tyrannosaurus rex, from birth to bloody death.

TYRANT.

Some dreams need to die before being born again. With the collapse of the distribution system TYRANT had been created in, Bissette was unable to see his 10-year plan to fruition. The work that was done, however, sits atop the grandest achievements in sequential art history.

Now, for the first time ever, the historic masterpiece by a Will Eisner Hall of Fame cartoonist at the height of his powers is being collected. Celebrated artist and designer Jim Rugg (HULK: GRAND DESIGN, STREET ANGEL) has created multiple editions along with exclusive limited items for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Rugg’s previous collaboration with Lighthouse Editor/Publisher Chris Stevens, LITTLE NEMO: DREAM ANOTHER DREAM, won both the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Design.

This campaign brings TYRANT back in the form it always deserved: impeccably restored, lovingly designed, and presented in formats befitting the King of the Dinosaurs.

NIGHT MOVERS: A Psychological Thriller Set in Modern Japan

A complete 72-page psychological thriller graphic novel with a gut-punch ending you won’t see coming.

Current Funding: $8,587
Funding Goal: $6,696
Days Left: 18

Night Movers is a psychological thriller set in modern-day Japan, where a young English woman living abroad wakes up one morning to discover that her boyfriend has vanished.

Not just missing…Erased.

No note.
No struggle.
No explanation.
An apartment stripped bare, like he was never there at all.

A woman alone in a foreign country, chasing the last trace of the man she loves.

What begins as a search for answers becomes a one-way fall.

This isn’t a loud, explosive thriller. It’s a quiet spiral into obsession that drags Stacy into the shadowed backstreets of the city, forcing her to become someone she never thought she’d be. Urban legends blur with reality. Hidden subcultures operate in plain sight. Neon streets give way to alleys no one talks about. Every door she opens leads somewhere darker.

This is a story about crossing invisible lines.

About love turning into fixation.
About grief mutating into resolve.
And about what happens when you chase the truth far enough that it starts chasing you back.

A slow-burn journey into Japan’s unseen underbelly, where hope becomes a liability, trust is a currency, and some discoveries change you forever.

By the end, you won’t just question what happened to him.
You’ll question every choice she made to find him.

Stacy has built a life in Japan. She has friends. She has routines. Most importantly, she has Aoto. Then one morning, he’s gone. Not just missing. Gone. Refusing to accept the easy answers, Stacy begins searching on her own, pushing deeper into unfamiliar parts of the city, chasing leads that may or may not exist. And the further she goes, the more everything starts to blur.
Night Movers is a psychological thriller about love turning into obsession, grief warping perception, isolation in a foreign country, and the quiet horror of not knowing what’s real anymore. It pulls on the heartstrings… then leaves you with a gut punch that will stay with you long after you finish the final page.
